Back On the Road

April 9th, 2024

The trailer maintenance is complete and has been re-organized and loaded for my trip back out west. I will start the drive this Friday, headed for Sioux Falls, South Dakota where I will spend the night before crossing the plains to Badlands National Park and the Black Hills. In early May, I will visit my son in Colorado, who I haven’t seen in 8 months. I will loiter there until it warms up enough to head west and eventually into the mountains.

It was not much of a winter here in Minnesota. There was one cold snap for a week or so, but very little snow. We did manage to go cross country skiing one afternoon back in late March. I also went over to Wisconsin a few times to help my friends clear trees for the solar panels at their cabin.

I am anxious to start traveling again and hope to see a lot of new places in Idaho and Montana. There are number historical sites I would like to visit related to the Nez Perce Indian War of which I have done much reading over the years. My interest was sparked by ownership of Appaloosa horses back in the 1970s and 80s.

Still round the corner
there may wait,
A new road or a secret gate.
