I have a rough plan for my travels this spring and summer. I will leave the Minneapolis area on April 13th and head west to South Dakota first. There I will idle around the badlands and the Black Hills, waiting for night time temperatures to increase enough to avoid freezing my trailer pipes at higher elevations. At that point, I can de-winterize and continue on with a short stop to Colorado, prior to starting a tour of Idaho and Montana. The plan is roughly as follows:
April
- Badlands National Park, South Dakota
- Custer State Park
- Wind Cave National Park
May
- Flaming Gorge Recreation Area, Utah
- Park City, Utah
- Sun Valley, Idaho
- Stanley, Idaho
June
- Lake Cascade, Idaho
- McCall, Idaho
July
- Sandpoint, Idaho
- Lake Pend Oreille
- Glacier National Park, Montana
- Seeley Lake, Montana
August
- Big Hole National Battlefield, Montana
- Salmon, Idaho
- Teton Valley, Idaho
September
- Pinedale, Wyoming
- Bridger Wilderness Area
- Great Basin National Park, Nevada
October
- Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada
- Havasu Lake, Arizona
By the first of November, it will be time to look for a warm place to be for the winter.
